My name is Aaron and I'm the very proud father of Namiyah and Noelani. They're 9 years old and the perfect mix of beauty and brains. I'd say they're definitely daddy's girls. Many days I wonder what it is that I've done to deserve such a gift. Why have I been made responsible for these little humans? Regardless of the why, they're mine and God is trusting me to father them in the same way that He fathers me.
What even is a father? By definition, a father is a man who has begotten a child. Simple enough right? But what is the role of a father? The bible tells us that we are to lead and protect. A father should be rooted, grounded, strong, and should have a desire for his children to know right from wrong.
There's no greater love than the love that Christ has shown us, his children. Fact, some fathers are more involved than others. Some of you may have even had to seek fatherly guidance from an uncle or other male figure. Either way, Christ has consistently shown us what the love of a father looks like and how a father should always have his childs best interest at heart. What greater way to show a child the love of a father than to raise them to know The Father. Christ has made it so easy for us to do just that. His word provides instruction as to how we are to father our children. For best results...well, you know the rest.
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT Fathers encourage and comfort their children. 1 Thessalonians 2:11–12 Your faith will be a refuge for your children. Proverbs 14:26 The Father has given father's a complete how-to guide. He's made it so easy for us. I'm definitely not saying that every day of fathering will be easy, but if we, the fathers, will submit to The Father, all else will fall into line as He intended. I challenge you to seek Christs will for you as a father. Ask yourself, what is it that my child requires of me? What example am I showing my child. I'm believing that Christ will reveal Himself to you and that you will gain a clearer understanding of what and who a father is.
